What’s on My Mind 11.28.20

Happy belated Thanksgiving! Welcome back to another what’s on my mind, where I share some recent discoveries that you might find interesting too. Let’s get into it.

Ina Garten’s Turkey Breast Recipe. I tend to stay home for Thanksgiving anyway but with it just being me and my boyfriend this year, I wasn’t about to cook up a 10 lb turkey. Thankfully Ina Garten (and HEB) came to the rescue with her turkey breast recipe, appropriate for 6-7 lb turkey breasts. Pro tip – swap out the olive oil for butter, and use a whole 32 oz container of chicken stock in the bottom of the roasting pan for AMAZING gravy.

Foster Bryce. In case you missed it from Instagram, I have a new foster pup named Bryce. Still through Gold Ribbon Rescue, but he originally came from Turkey. So far, so good. He’s a sweet guy, perfectly house-broken, and super chill. We’re working through some health issues, but once those are resolved, he’s going to a home that’s going to love him as much as he’ll love them.

Bath and Body Works Candle Sale. Even though I’m the process of switching from candles to wax melts, I’d be remiss to not share my favorite upcoming candle sale from Bath and Body Works. Their 3 wick candles usually go down to $9.50 (from $24.50). SUCH a good deal. The sale is usually the first weekend of December, so it should be coming up next weekend. Fresh Balsam scent is my favorite Christmas scent, smelling JUST like a Christmas tree.

The Queens Gambit. It took a little but, but I finally watched The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. I heard nothing but good things from all of my friends who watched it, many of them praising the acting, cinematography, music, etc. Overall, I’d give it a 8/10. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I think there were some plot points missing. Hopefully they make a second season so some of those can be answered. If you’ve seen it, what did you think? Let me know in the comments.

Black Friday Confessions. I really haven’t shopped much this year for Black Friday. 🤫 I’m not sure what it is – but this year just hasn’t been that impressive for me sale wise. Plus I’m not intersted in “stuff” and want to be more purposeful about the things I’m spending my money on. Are you feeling that too? What sales were you excited to shop for?

Those have been the top 5 things on my mind this week. Let me know about your Netflix shows and favorite sales this holiday season in the comments or on instagram. Thank you for reading!
