Crash Team Racing on Nintendo Switch

It’s been a while since we’ve done a “What’s on My Mind” post. Since we’ve been staying home we haven’t experienced as many new things, so we’ve branched out to other content on Saturdays. This week I have several things I’m excited about, though, so I’m returning to the “What’s on My Mind” series to share them with you!

  1. My current obsession is Crash Team Racing for the Nintendo Switch. My brother and I loved the Crash Bandicoot games when we were kids, and Crash Team Racing (CTR) was always our favorite. There was a period of time when it was a family ritual for all four of us (Mom, Dad, my brother, and I) to play several races on CTR before we went to bed. I recently found out CTR was remade for Switch, and I’ve been playing it with my brother during quarantine. It’s super nostalgic for me and is just as fun as I remembered.
  2. I recently watched the new Scooby-Doo movie, Scoob!, and I loved it. It’s adorable, and has a lot of jokes thrown in for my generation. Greg and I don’t have any kids, but I think it would be a great movie for people who do. It’s one of those that has moments in it for both kids and adults.
  3. I made this recipe for asopao, a Puerto Rican stew, last weekend and highly recommend it for an easy weeknight meal. It uses minimal dishes (a pot, a pan, and a cutting board), is great if you have a lot of vegetables you need to use up, and feels a little more special than an easy weeknight stew. It’s definitely going to be in our regular meal rotation.
  4. In an effort to cut another plastic bottle out of our routine, I ordered this bar shampoo. I love Love Beauty & Planet’s regular shampoo and conditioner, so I’m hoping this is a good alternative to the ones that come in plastic bottles. Fingers crossed!
  5. Remy (our dog) and Celia (our cat) have been shedding like crazy, which hasn’t been doing my allergies any favors. We got a Furminator brush, and it seems to be helping. It helps comb out the undercoat to manage the shedding, and they both love being brushed. It’s kind of a game to see if I can get a good round of brushing in on Celia before Remy butts in and starts begging for his turn! There are different size Furminators depending on the size of your pet and how long their hair is. I just got one big one to manage Remy’s coat, and it’s been working fine to use it on Celia as well.

What have you been digging lately? Any good movies I should check out? We’d love to connect with you on social media or in the comments below. You can also check out our other What’s on My Mind posts here, and subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates of new posts.
